About Transformational Eating™ — For Pracitioners

Transformational Eating™ — For Practitioners offers a fundamentally different approach to healing, looking through the lens of self-compassion and reparenting. Originally launched to help clients on elimination diets who developed unhealthy relationships with food, it’s become a powerful resource for practitioners, therapists, clinicians, and others working with those struggling with food. This course will introduce you to self-compassion and reparenting and teach you how best to incorporate these evidence-based approaches into your professional practices.

This short video introduces you to the program (and to me), including its origins, how it’s unique, and what to expect as a participant.

Transformational Eating™ -
For Practitioners

Transformational Eating™ — For Practitioners is an evidence-based, 16-hour, 8-week live Zoom course that teaches the skills of self-compassion and reparenting, helps explore underlying belief systems, and aids in showing kindness to internal hurt — all to help practitioners more effectively work with clients that struggle with emotional and disordered eating. Note that this course now offers 14- CE available from the APA. See more information on CE on the “Join The Class Today” page below.

This is a very hands-on, highly interactive class that meets weekly in 2-hour blocks. In our time together, we will:

  • Root ourselves in self-compassion and reparenting

  • Discover the framework of your clients’ relationships to food and what they believe about themselves

  • Explore how self-compassion and reparenting can transform existing beliefs

  • Evaluate the limitations of Intuitive Eating practices

  • Investigate the role of interoception in eating

  • Introduce basic meditations and self-compassion exercises

Total cost for the class is $800, including an expansive workbook and custom meditations. Additionally, all classes will be recorded and viewable for up to one week, in the event you can’t attend and/or want to review.

Classes are intentionally small (a maximum of ten people), so please sign up as soon as possible to assure yourself of a spot.

Go Further With Your Clients

Transformational Eating™ is not a diet or specific way of eating, nor is it a form of Intuitive Eating or mindful eating. Instead, it’s a powerful approach to healing emotional and disordered eating that uniquely blends self-compassion skills, belief work, and reparenting.

By focusing on your clients’ history and beliefs — rather than how and what they eat — it goes to the absolute core of their relationship with food. This is deep work that helps your practice by improving outcomes with clients.

Class Participants Show +30% Increase
In Self-Compassion & Body Awareness

Interoceptive awareness is the ability to know and recognize one’s internal body cues and signals, such as hunger and satiety. Statistically, people struggling with emotional and disordered eating have lower interoceptive awareness, making it more difficult for them to listen to and/or trust the signs their bodies are sending about food.

Survey results from recent class participants demonstrate that Transformational Eating™ materially increases their ability to hear and trust internal signals, as well as their ability to show kindness toward themselves. Students saw double-digit improvements in every measured category (e.g., self-kindness, mindfulness, attention regulation, body listening, trusting) across the gold standards of testing: The Multidimensional Assessment of Interoceptive Awareness and the Self-Compassion Scale - Short-Form.

This combination of results — hearing, trusting, and kindness — is the driver of impact for Transformational Eating™.
